Checking off Lists

This is my summer to catch up on Fogo Island time. As we start traveling back and forth from Gander, I have added Deep Bay lists on my phone. Both things I need and thinks I’ve kept out here.

We’re pretty well set up here but I thought of something last night and added it to my list this morning.

We were both in bed early and then up early so headed to Punch Buggy for a breakfast sandwiches and to check on the icebergs.

Sandwiches in hand we checked Brimstone RV park but it offered no view unless we hiked. From Sargeant’s Cove we had a lovely view with zoom and binoculars.

We had our sandwiches and parted ways in Deep Bay. Leo had a whole list of things to do with and for people in Island Harbour.

On my list was to buy a hat in Tilting.

As a result of some surgeries to remove melanoma, I’ve suddenly become a hat girl. With help from a friend and a cousin, I started a collection of hats in various styles. Most this winter have been beanie or slouch style hats but I found a beautiful green hat at the Winds and Waves Artisan Guild shop a few weeks ago. Within a week it became my favourite.

it fits and holds my head well. The narrow brim offers protection but does not catch the wind or blow off and it’s good in rain and cooler temps. I wanted another.

As I browsed, a gentleman was commenting to his wife about the squish (means not square or straight) angles of a felted piece of art. I told them Keefe’s stage was just up the road and they could drive up to see it, but would then have to drive back to buy the art.

As I was paying for my hat, I updated Lillian on my medical stuff. Scan completed yesterday, treatment next week, etc. Then I turned and my new friends from Manatoulin Island had their stage picture ready to purchase.

As they left, I suggested we should all stop at Keefe’s Stage so I could take their picture. So that was done, on his camera.

The husband then passed me a home made gift. Something from their community that they produced themselves. And she wished me good luck because she’s heard about my cancers.

I went on to find an iceberg in Sandy Cove.

A few minutes later, we were all at Sandy Cove and I showed her my Deep Bay list. With the addition made 2 hours earlier.

I hope they have a great holiday and find this post.

And I can edit my Deep Bay list again because I now have this.
